Lean Gourmet Turkey Burger with Sweet Potato Fries

A healthy hamburger sounds like an oxy moron doesn’t it? But on one particular lunch outing, we wanted just that–something comforting but downright good and you can’t get any better than a hamburger AND we wanted to be healthy about it.  My co-worker suggested Topz, about a 5 minute drive from the office. I haven’t been to Topz in a while (I was thinking more along the lines of an In-And-Out Burger) but this was a much better option since we’ve been trying to eat healthy (trying is the operative word here).

Tops has really expanded their menu.  They still serve their gourmet lean burgers which they are known for, but I noticed a new item that immediately caught my eye–SWEET POTATO FRIES!!!  Topz does not fry their fries–it is air baked, never deep fried. Translation: better for you and definitely a healthier option.  For my order, I thought I would take it one step further and really be annoyingly healthy and order a Turkey Burger, 100% lean white meat with all the fixings and their “secret sauce” on a wheat bun. And instead of regular fries, I opted for the sweet potato fries.

In a word: YUMMY! Forget McDonalds, this is so much better and if you’ve never been to Topz, try it. You’ll be a fan too. They not only service gourmet lean burgers and fries, but salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches and onion rings as well.
